Hydrocene is an immersive experience that guides the audience in a free fall toward an underwater abyss. This meditative yet visceral first person journey addresses the contemporary feeling of groundlessness by posing a poetic and political quest through the liquid fabric of existence. Hydrocene invites us to float along alternative currents of time and
space,to transcend human centered world and open ourselves to new ways of imagining the future.
The artwork explores spatial polyphony through a collaboration with a solo soprano, whose voice expands and multiplies into a choral entity. Inspired by the idea of a single voice dissolving into a collective presence, the composition
unfolds as a narrative, where sound itself becomes a transformative force.
The chorus emerges as an entity of fusion between human and non-human, an unseen force that blurs the boundaries between individual and collective. Through artistic treatment and spatialized sound design, the piece creates an enveloping sonic environment, where the voice resonates like an incantation—as if carried by underwater currents, the choral textures drift and converge, embodying a dialogue between species, elements, and the unknown.
The result is an auditory experience that dissolves time and place, a lyrical and surreal composition that conveys a sense of expansion in a world where song and spell intertwine.
